Already using Salesdash? Follow the step-by-step guide to get connected with ChatGPT or Claude.
Your team's AI access follows two layers of permissions. Connection permissions determine whether an assistant can read, create, update, or delete supported information. Salesdash role permissions determine which records each team member can view and which actions they can take.
Retrieve information you're permitted to see — accounts, lanes, quotes, follow-ups, and activity.
Create or update supported records in Salesdash, when write access is enabled on the connection.
Delete supported records when authorized — by the connection settings and the user's role.
Yes. The Salesdash MCP connector lets you use ChatGPT or Claude with supported Salesdash CRM data and actions. You can ask questions about your accounts, activity, and opportunities using natural language. Access depends on your connection permissions, Salesdash role, and the requirements of your ChatGPT or Claude plan and workspace.
ChatGPT or Claude can help your team review account history, prioritize follow-ups, examine open quotes, and identify potential carrier matches using information recorded in Salesdash.
For example, you can ask, “Who are the top 10 accounts I should call today?” or “Which carriers in my CRM could cover Atlanta to Dallas with a dry van?” Results depend on the available CRM information and supported tools. A carrier match does not confirm current truck availability or capacity.
MCP stands for Model Context Protocol, a standard that connects AI tools like ChatGPT and Claude to external applications. The Salesdash MCP connector gives these tools a way to request permitted CRM information and perform supported actions. Without a connection, ChatGPT and Claude do not automatically have access to your private Salesdash records.
Supported actions depend on the access granted to the connection. Read access allows information retrieval, write access allows supported record creation or updates, and delete access allows supported deletions.
The connected user’s Salesdash permissions must also allow the action. A read-only connection cannot change records, even if the user can edit them directly in Salesdash.
Access is controlled through both connection permissions and Salesdash role permissions. Connection permissions determine which types of actions are allowed. Salesdash roles determine which records each team member can view and what they can change.
Both must allow an action. Enabling write access on a connection does not override a team member’s role restrictions.
No. The Salesdash connection does not expand a rep’s access. If a rep’s Salesdash permissions prevent them from viewing an account, they cannot retrieve that account through the connection in ChatGPT or Claude.
The same principle applies to changes. A rep who can view a record but cannot edit it cannot use the connection to bypass that restriction.
Yes. A read-only connection allows ChatGPT or Claude to retrieve supported information without creating, updating, or deleting CRM records. The connected user’s Salesdash role still determines which information is available.
This lets your team use CRM information for questions, summaries, and analysis while keeping changes outside the connection.
Revoke the connection’s authorization through the applicable Salesdash connection controls. Contact Salesdash support if you need help identifying or removing a connection.
Revoking authorization stops further access through that connection once the revocation takes effect. It does not remove information already retrieved into ChatGPT or Claude conversations.
